View Full Version : Missing forum data & Boot Camp 1.1 BIG BATTERY PROBLEM

Am I losing my mind or did the forum lose some data before it mysteriously went down? I remember writing about how after Bootcamp 1.1, the processor will not clock down from 2.0 GHz on battery, although it will go down to 1.0 GHz when on AC. Someone else was talking about it, too.

The whole thread appears to be gone; I don't see it listed under my complete list of postings. What's up with this?

With that aside, this problem was introduced after upgrading to Boot Camp 1.1. The processor will not clock down on battery, but it will on AC. Any ideas on how to fix this or what might have caused this odd behavior in the first place? Other people have noticed this same behavior too. It has effectively cut the battery life in half (less than one hour now as opposed to a little over two hours before).

Clarification edit: I'm talking about Windows XP.

hi,

yeah i was also unsure about my mental constitution but it seems some postings / threads were lost.

i checked with the rm clock utility and on my machine the cpu is throttling down to 1ghz both on battery and on ac power. still the problem remains that the battery lasts for ~4 hours under osx and ~2.5 hours under win xp. (i am using bootcamp 1.1 and the 1.4f10 firmware)

greetings

Ok, thanks for sharing. I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought I was losing my mind about the forum. ;)

Thanks for the info too.. it now seems like some people have issues with CPU scaling after upgrading to bc1.1 and some don't. I hope I don't have to do a fresh install of XP to fix this. :(

Hasn't anyone else had this problem? Surely me and that other guy aren't the only ones...

Sorry, I only use Windows on A/C power, so I don't worry about this too much. I'm sure they'll get it right by the release of Leopard though. You could always buy an extra battery.

I'm trying a reformat now. The problem didn't exist in bc1.0. I'm gonna be really angry if a reformat doesn't fix it.
