Hi,

This is sort of a duplicate post, as I posted the same in the 'Vista 1.1' thread, but it's really important to me so I'm starting a new thread hoping I'll grab somebody's attention who can help :-)

I've installed Vista RC1 on my Macbook (black, 2GB Ram) and when it works, it works beautifully. I can't wait for them to hit RTM status, as this is a seriously good upgrade from XP.

Unfortunately, between the beta Boot Camp and the beta OS, things get flakey sometimes... Surprisingly, most of my issues are software-related...

The one thing that's really killing me, is External display support.

In XP, you have to use the Intel tools to activate another monitor... the Display Properties dialog won't do it.

But in Vista, newer MS drivers are installed, without the specific tools. I tried extracting the Boot Camp drivers and installing the older ones, but they didn't get me the tools either. I found where they were installed (igfxcfg) and tried to run them, with no luck. The tray icon appears, but has nothing in its menu :-(

Has anybody else had any luck getting an external monitor to work with a Macbook and Vista? This is a deal-breaker for me unfortunately, I might have to go back to XP if I can't get it working soon.

Thanks for any help :-)
