Hello,

I've had a read through this forum to see if anyone is having the same problem as me. I'm running bootcamp with xp sp2. Sometimes when I boot up the system gets all the way to the login... complete login.. then the system does a hard reboot. This also happens sometimes when the lid is closed and then reopened in XP. :confused:

Anyone had similar problems? It's really baking my noodle. :eek:

I've actually had that happen quite a bit on my Acer Tablet PC, so I think it might be a glitch with Windows. In my case, I formatted and reinstalled and the problem went away.

Further to my last post, it appears if I leave the system for a minute or so at the windows login box then the problem goes away. I think this might have something to do with the display driver and in particular the apple widgit for changing brightness.

Anyone seen similar? I'm too far down the track of software installs to reinstall windows now.

With Windows, it's not so much a track as it is a circle--a circle of life if you will. Simba, when Windows runs for a period of several months, it gets progressively slower and error messages appear prolifically, like circling vultures. Then it comes time for that Windows install to die, but when it dies, the hard disk will be reformatted, making room for a fresh new Windows install, which will work a bit better, at least for a while.

My problem has now been fixed when I installed the latest 1.1.1 drivers. Nice. It was really starting to bake my noodle.
