Connecting External HD

I just installed xp on my mac mini but cannot get xp to see my external Lacie d2 firewire drive. How do I get this to work? do I need special drivers?

I have macdrive 6 running but it is only seeing my osx drive.

I have installed MacDrive 6.0.7 also, and have not had a problem accessing my external firewire drive. What version are you using? Is the drive just not showing up at all?

The only trouble I have been having is that whenever I use my drive MacDrive tells me that the drive wasn't properly "put away" the last time it was used. Being a Mac user, is it necessary to eject drives in Win XP? I can't seem to find an option for it.
