Parallels released RC3 . The program has been optimized for migrating to Vista.
Windows XP to Windows Vista upgrade support
Transporter RC3 bundled - migrate your real Windows PC, or existing VMware or Virtual PC VMs to Parallels virtual machines!
There's a lot of other different features included. For information check parallels official site (http://www.parallels.com/products/desktop/beta_testing/).
They claim that there will be better Vista support. We'll see. Maybe it's the reason for me to migrate to Vista from XP, who knows...

Hardly had I posted the info above when Parallels announced a new update of Parallels Desktop. Anyway there were no revolutionary features included in the release and it's content doesn't differ much from RC3 - that's why I see no sense in creating special thread for it.

I cannot seem to get my XP (sp1)software to work on my MacBook Pro. Just a lovely windows desktop with no functionality.
Any suggestions to this frustration?
Many thanks to all of you geniuses.

The short answer is: Apple doesn't support installing SP1... You need an XP install disk with SP2. Since you already have an SP1 disk, you're probably going to want to do some research into slipstreaming SP2 (http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=slipstreaming+XP2). The first two links on that Google search both look like they might work, but there are dozens of similar sets of instructions on the internet. (You'll also need access to a functional Windows XP machine with a CD burner, and one or two blank CDs.)
