Changing the Windows partition from NO NAME

Am I free to change the name of the windows partition from within Mac OS X? At the moment it is called NO NAME wich is a bit ugly. Will it break my windows booting if I change it or is it only for the Mac OS view of the partition?

I changed the label from within XP. It appears inside of OS X renamed. Haven't tried it from within OS X
