Hi all,
I have a OS X 10.3.9 server. I turned on the ftp service for users to connect to home directory. For right now, anonymous can log in and create a folder but can not delete or rename that folder (can't modify). Please let me know how to configure so that anonymous can read, write and modify.

In doing a brief few minutes of research, I found that you're probably going to want to switch gears, and try out the suggestions in this article (http://www.macdevcenter.com/pub/a/mac/2005/03/04/ftp.html). The author says (in brief) that Apple's own customized FTP service has some flaws which make it difficult to effectively manage user permissions, and he suggests that you try PureFTPd (http://jeanmatthieu.free.fr/pureftpd/) instead.
Now, having said that... I certainly hope that your unsecured FTP server is hosted on a LAN and is not accessible from the internet. I once accidentally misconfigured a server in the manner that you've described -- and the next thing I knew, there was a huge collection of illegal software and movie files taking up all of the available harddrive space on my server! Just a word to the wise...

PureFTPd allows you to create directory not modify directory. I am using PureFTPd now, but it does not help. Yeah, this FTP server is hosted on LAN. People would like to access to the directory using MAC or PC. Thanks for your quick response anyway.
