Ok, the ATI x1600 Contest is a good idea in theory. But we all know what happened when the Windows XP contest started: we stopped hearing ANY thing about the progress!

I mean, in the end this contest will probably render a higher quality video solution then if we all just tinkered around together. But we're going to be waiting alot longer for any kind of video fix now that everyone will be keeping their progress a secret.

I don't know, I support OnMac, I'm stoked beyond words that everyone's efforts have finally enabled the dream so many said was impossible. But now we all have to be kept in the dark with the video issue. Kinda sucks in my opinion.

I am kinda upset about this too. People will generally wait till the money is high and then release it.

sux.

This is pretty cool. See, the good thing about this is that if it takes work for people to get the drivers working, people will be willing to put in the effort. And indeed, it may take quite a bit of tinkering...

Yeah, kinda unfortunate. I really like the whole community sharing kind of thing for drivers and whatnot.

I'm gonna laugh if some programmer dude from ATI writes a driver for this thing in his spare time haha.

Haha that would be so awesome. I'd really love to see some serious support for windows on mac. Support from Microsoft (yeah right), ATI, Apple, etc

I don't know if ATI will lend support, but it seems like they would have a vested interest in this, so long as Apple continues using ATI video cards.
