Are you using the Mac Mini XOM file I posted? If you need it, search the forums...

Usually that indicated a non-slipstreamed CD. Try remaking your Windows CD.
Good luck!

Thanks Steve

Due to human error....a lot of problems arise with the Slipstream CD. If you care to, look at xomhelper which can create the slipstream CD for you...and most have been very succesful with it. It can also install the correct xom.efi for you.
Just a thought if you are still having issues. The first few times I created the slipstream CD I was doing it wrong, then my copy of Nero expired....so I found documentation to do it in OSX and incorporated that into xomhelper, for myself, and to help others.

I'm also interested to hear how this goes for you. I couldn't even get the F4/f7 thing to work (no debug menu, no options to change resolution). I'm starting over tonight, though, so perhaps I'll report back as well.
Mini Solo, 512mb, hooked up to an LCD TV right now.

Well no luck with the Xomhelper....... I know it's me I'm burning the CD from xomhelper now and If that doesn’t work I'll do another burn one more off my windows PC........ I think this is above my abilities but I'm a stubborn German so I will not quit until my mac install CD is worn smooth:) or my HD breaks.......... xomhelper is very cool I would like to be able to write apple script like that someday..... Thanks

Same exact problem.
Here's the details, hope someone can help me figure this out:
1. Made CD with Xomhelper (on my G5).
2. Ran Xomhelper (on the Mini) to install xom.efi and bless.
3. Rebooted Mini.
4. Got "Crystal" Apple logo. Arrowed down to Windows logo.
5. Did not hit enter, but F4 instead as this is what the Wiki instructions appear to say to do (the very first time I tried to install, I hit enter, got the same results as now).
6. Black screen with white letters "Screen Enabled" and other text. No amount of F4 or F7 does anything. I hit enter and text scrolls by until the infamous three lines of text appear and it hangs until I shut down and reboot.
How do I know if my XP slipstreamed disc is bad? I've tried several, made with Xomhelper (most recently) and via the Terminal myself. I've burned them with both Disk Utility and Toast 6. Argggh!
Question? Should I be able to open boot.img on the Mac side? I just tried dropping the files from the XOM_CD iso and Toast said it couldn't recognize it. Then I decided to double click it and see what was up, and it wouldn't mount. The one on the cd iso is only 2 kb in size, while the one that came with the download package is 4 kb.
I'm calling it a night. Perhaps a fresh look will prove fruitful tomorrow.
Thanks much.

Well, I'm a little further along this morning. I tried using the original xom.efi file as that is the one the gentlemen who posted a Mini Solo guide at http://macxp.furbism.com/ did and got their Mini up and running. The first thing I noticed was that the Apple/Windows logos were now in the middle of the screen, where before they sat in the bottom right corner. Before I just thought it was a quirk of using a TV as a monitor. This time, I pressed F4 at the Windows logo and got into the commands to enter the screen resolution. As the Furbism guys did, I entered 640x480. Everything seemed to go along swimmingly, but now I'm stuck with several rows of "2000:0EFE: int 13_40"
I've tried two different XP on Mac discs with the same results.
I feel a HDD wipe down and reinstall MacOSX coming on. . .

Are there different xom.efi for the macmini core duo and core solo?
The only xom.efi I included was for the duo I think...

I don't know if there are different xom.efi files for the two Mini's. I used the original xom.efi file that was released with the solution. Perhaps the Mini xom.efi file doesn't like the core solo Mini?

i managed to see the setup screen of XP! and currently formatting disk :-)
Don't get confused when u have entered the screen infos:
640x480 (F4/F7 combo)
select XP in the console window wait for some time (till CD spins down) and blindly type in the "g" and press return!
Suddenly the CD started to spin and the upper left corner (640x480) window showed the Windows Disk setup utility.
System used:
Mac Mini Core Solo
512MB
DVI->Video/SVideo Adapter connected to Toshiba LCD TV
Windows XP SP2 English from my MSDN Universal subscription

Success! I am installing Windows XP on my Mini as I type this! I followed the directions found in this thread: http://forum.onmac.net/showthread.php?t=520 . Using the original xom.efi file and a resolution of 640x480 and using my fourth install disc (made with Xomhelper, thank you very much), I got everything to go smoothly. I also switched to a 17" VGA monitor, but I don't know if that had anything to do with it. I changed several things at once, so it's hard to say really. Since others have had success hooked up to a regular TV using the DVI-video connector, I'd say the monitor didn't have anything to do with it.
Is there a happy dance Smiley? ;)

Congrats on getting it going...I am glad xomhelper was of help...amazing what a simple thing like that can do to make the process better...I appreciate the kind words.
