I have a Windows XP Pro Service Pack 1 Upgrade Disk. I know how to turn it into a Windows XP Pro Service Pack 2 disk that won't ask me to change CDs. This is how I did it.

1. Used nLite to intigrade SP2
2. Copied this new CD to the xp/src folder
3. Did all the stuff with Nero
4. Made two .iso files. One with the original setupp.ini file and one with an XP Pro Full setupp.ini file. (I own the full version of 98 and an hp full version of XP Home)

I put the modified setupp.ini disk into my MacBook Pro (2.16GHz)
It works fine until setup copies files. I get the following
Setup cannot copy [names listed below]
Press Enter to retry
Esc to skip
-files it cannot copy are
ntcmdwW.CHM
wbdbase.FRA
modemui.DLL

I tried to retry it, keeps getting the same problem. So finally I just skip those files. When the computer it done copying files it restarts. I turn off CD booting and I get a black screen that says

HDBoot: Found valid boot sector on partition #1. Booting...
int D called from 0D00:0717. GDT=3FDF2980L0000003F IDT=0000000L000003FF
and then three more lines that are simlar to that and it ends with

0D00:0717 26 67 8B 03 mow ax,es:[ebx]
-

that's it. It won't do anything except sit on that screen.

What's wrong? From other sites I've found that it could be a bad ISO.

Is there a better method I should be using for getting my XP Pro SP1 to XP Pro SP2?

Please Help!

Did you take the SP2 CD and then make the XOM patched CD from it? You can use a utility like xomhelper to create it on OSX.

I just redid everything and it worked! Now... if only I had drivers for my MacBook Pro graphics card!
