Ok, So I have a MBP 2.0GHz, and I have gone through and prepped my system for the install, I blessed xom file, and then I get the apple logo and the windows logo. I have created two different xp install cds. One from an OEM SP2 disc, and another from a corporate licensed sp2 disc. Both discs appear to be made correctly using the batch file under windows XP. When I select the color windows logo at the boot prompt, it becomes grey, then the disc spins up, then no change or anything for a very long time. I haven't let it go too long, but at least 15-20 minutes and no sounds or activity, or even disks spinning. My OS X install still works and boots after blessing the xom file.

I'm thinking that it's my disc. I do not have a "retail" xp disc, but I have both of those other ones. I'm thinking I will make the disc under OS X, and see what results I get from that. I'm using an original CD for XP with SP2 on it.

Another item of note, I prepped the drives for the install, then cloned back to my OS X partition from a firewire backup. Sure saves me a lot of trouble from re-installing, and I can't image it causing an issue. Should I have attempted this install from 10.4.5? or is 10.4.6 ok?

thanks,

jrog

Under OSX try xomhelper to create the XP cd....it needs to be a SP2 XP cd...
