MacDrive will not work; Parallels apparently only knows how to handle DOS/FAT/NTFS filesystems on the Mac. I still haven't managed to convince VNC or SMB to share files or folders either. Unlike Virtual PC & VMWare, Parallels seems to have no concept of a shared folder or file(s) with the "other" OS (OSX).
Also, with Parallels Beta 2 my Dual Mini is mute (no sound, no microphone input), screen refresh is slow, no Bluetooth support and the CD handling is still weak: no support for writing to blank media, and even with Beta 2 of Parallels, CD recognition is spotty.

With Boot Camp, *everything* works, with the exception of the clock loosing it's mind when switching from OSX to XP. However, with the addition of a nice little freeware program, the clock is now automagically set every time I switchbetween OSX and XP.

You can install the Parallels Tools, which provides for nominated OSX partition folder(s) to be accessible from Parallels.

the easiest way to access OSX form parallels is to do it over the network.
Parallels creates a bridge so XP and OSX have separate IPs. You can go in System Preferences in OSX, Sharing, enable windows sharing.
Then in XP open up a window and in the address bar type
\\192.168.x.x\username this should access your users folder. This works much better than using parallels sharing tool.

For me, using the Parallels File Sharing works quite well. I setup a share of my Documents folder on my Mac, and then access it using Parallels. The speed in the 1.0 Parallels release is quite quick on my 1.83 MBP. Hope that helps!
