I am guessing the answer to my question will be no, but here it goes. Do these instructions also work, if you are using a Windows XP Pro SP1 cd instead of SP2?
thanks,

I would take the gander it would. I have the same problem, but I'm not going to screw my Mac mini just because I'm to lazy to hunt it down at the office.
Suggestion: avoid it
Go find an SP2 CD. There are a HUGE amount of updates from the SP1 CD, I imagine. The fact that the SP2 DOWNLOAD is like 200mbs.
I'm a .NET developer (mac-o-phile outside that) and trust me ... it'll probably ma(c)ke the process go a hell of a lot easier.
My 2c.
Any official word from the originators or anyone from the grape vine have thoughts on this?

You have to use a SP2 CD for it to work, otherwise setup wants you to insert a SP2 CD during install.
So I'm now in search for a SP2 CD I can use.

Use that guide to slipstream SP2 into your existing WinXP install disc. You should be able to slipstream the XOM stuff onto it afterwards.
Contains instructions for both Nero and Roxio.

This was the method I used (from the same site, at that). My XP install is working like a charm. (a very finicky charm, but a charm nonetheless.)
