Trackpad mouse jumps around on MacBook Pro

Does anyone else have a problem with the trackpad jumping erratically on MacBook Pro running Windows XP Pro?

(Trackpad works under OS X, and external mice run under XP ... but on an airplane the latter is not really an option)

I usually only have a problem when my hands are brushing the trackpad as I type. A new driver with a service which provides more capabilities (e.g. 2 finger scrolling, 2 finger right-click, acceleration, etc.) should also include a feature to ignore input from non-finger touches and a sensitivity setting. We'll see if Apple comes out with something like this for XP, or maybe someone else will work on one.

The trackpad jumping issue occurs even if I only have 1 finger on the trackpad and no fingers anywhere else, so its not due to "incidental contact". Just curious if anyone else has noticed this?

Yeah this happens on my 17" too.
If you look in your mouse settings it currently it doesn't even use a driver. Just the generic HID Mouse driver - which would explain the lack of options.
I wonder if installing the Synaptic drivers would help/fix/break the touch pad......

I've the same problem and OI hope to find a solution soon. meanwhile I use external Apple (Mighty wired) mouse.

I've tried Synaptics, with no luck. Let me know if you get it to work somehow.

It appears to be a power management issue. When on AC it works fine but on battery it jumps around and staggers when you open an application. If we can find out a way to disable intel speedstep, it will probably rectify the problem.
