problem: change name for NTFS XP partition in osx

basically the xp partition on my osx is titled "Untitled". because this is ntfs i have no way of changing the name of the partition easily. anyone know how i can change the "untitled" to something else? or is there a way i can hide the partition in osx (i really dont need it since i cant write to it)? thanks

I'm pretty sure I never changed mine in OS X, I just changed the volume name while in XP and it shows up the same in OS X. The name is Untitled by default in XP, but it is easy to change if you right-click on the drive.

In XP, go to the disk administrator from the control panel, Administrative tools.

Select the XP partition and right-click to properties.

The first text box at the top of the properties window will be empty; enter a name for it eg. WinXP or something

The next time you boot into osx, the drive will display that name.

i went into administrative tools but there is no xp partition for me to right click. the only things there are:

Component Services
Computer Management
Data Sources (ODBC)
Event Viewer
Local Security Policy
Performance
Services

so yeah ...

Sorry I skipped a step in my description. From the administrative tools, select computer management and from there, on the left panel, you'll see disk management.

You'll see the XP disk I was talking about there.

thanks that totally worked out. can you also help me because my fat32 partition does not show up on xp but shows up on osx. the partition was created using the wikis guide of having a shared partition between both osx's. please help
