Hey,

I am currently playing the elder scrolls IV: Oblivion on my macbook pro. I was using ati tool clocking the gpu to 470/470 with awesome results in oblivion. After a few hours of playing it closed and ATI recover tool or something said that the graphics card had been reset to its default mode b/c it was not responding. Now if i clock the card any higher than its default speed ATI recover tool whines and resets it. This happens if i overclock it as little as 1mhz. I need to overclock it to make oblivion enjoyable. What is wrong? HELP ME!

deinstall current drivers, including ATI control panel.
install the latest omega drivers.
open open omega control panel, UNCHECK VPU RECOVERY.
then run ati tool.

and if you are playing 470/470 on your macbook pro, you are an idiot. 400/400 to be safe, and 70mhz more doesnt make even 5fps difference.

Try do be more polite next time...!By the way i play to WorldOfWarcraft 500/540 and it never crashes with the last Omega drivers.

He may not have been nice, but he's basically right. It may run stable, but overclocking it that high is going to drastically lessen the life of that chip.
