Parallels released Version 1.0 of Parallels Desktop for OSX yesterday.

Couldn't find a changelog anywhere, not even in their forum....

Only realy known Facts:

1. Final 1.0 is out
2. Price increase from
$49.99 Full Version, $39.99 Pre-Order
to
$79.99 Full Version, $49.99 Early Adopter Incentive
3. Price will be $79.99 as of 7/15/2006 (29 Days to go)

I still wonder where the others (vmware) are in this mix. The only thing that I can speculate as a good reason for no virtualization product from VMWare is that Apple approached VMWare to build their software into OS X (even if Apple eventually chose to use the open source Xen) and thus VMWare knows if they spend the money to develop something it will be dead by the release of Jaguar. It will be interesting to see if someone can confirm / deny this when early developer builds of Jaguar come out.

Virtualization technology certainly makes a heck of a lot of sense on the server builds of Mac OS X, so we will see what eventually happens

Just a note: They did add Compressor (to compress Virtual machine files) with the price for the final release. Get it while it's cheaper :-)
