Hello, im new here and have a few questions. I'm sure some of them have been answerd but im searching-challenged/illiterate :) I own a black macbook 2ghz but only 512 ram (to be uppgraded)
1) My trackpad is very percise and stable except along the right edge where it seems to have a mid of its own and does some kind of strange hop-dance right and left. Anyone else experience this?
2) Whats up with this craazy heat?? Ive heard of people disecting their computers and replacing the thermal paste with AS5, as well as a firmwar update. Quick question, is the concensus that these fixes help or no?
3) Does anyone else experience hte slight oscilating fan sound described as 'mooing'? is there a fix? is there a concensus as to the reason of the sound? does it only happen under windows?
4) Batterylife. tsk tsk. Simply deplorable under windows. Turning down screen brightness helps a bit. I hear rumors of a windows hotfix: go or no-go?
5) Ive installed the new sigmatel drivers and headphones work with stereosound and disable the speakers. however only the right speaker seems to be working (headphones not plugged in obviously). Is this normal? Is it a known problem?
6) I have 512 ram as mentioned and am looking to replace one of the 256 modules with a 1Gb module. I found a much cheaper HP stick online than the one advertised by apple. is this too risky? it seems to have all the right dimensions (speed pincount etc).
I greatly appreciate any comment/help/fix. Thank you.
