Long wait with startup?

Hey hey! I've installed boot camp twice on my MBP now. I uninstalled the first time because I got paranoid. Then I reinstalled because I wanted to play HL2.

In both installations I've had the same . Sometimes when I boot up my MBP the screen stays black for about 20 seconds and then plays the Apple chime with a white screen.problem

As well, sometimes I do not hear the chime. Although lately I have been hearing it.

Has anyone had these problems and do you have any solutions?

Try installing rEFIt instead of using Apple's boot loader (this won't affect your experience after choosing where to boot up, and it is also customizable in a lot of great ways). Also, you could try getting ridding of the startup chime with Startup Sound from Arcana.
