I have never owned an Apple computer and seriously thinking of purchasing a Macbook 13"(1 gb memory, 1.83 ghz core duo processor). I have a couple questions before deciding.

1. From most of the threads I read, you can dual boot windows and mac osx. If using the Bootcamp, is that the same thing? Is booting up to Windows XP seperate than booting up to MAC OS like on a regular computer w/ different Windows Operating systems? For example, Win XP does not run within the MAC OSX.

2. Does Windows somewhat utilize the hardware efficient?

3. I have heard Apple is better graphic/video wise. Is this a true fact? I'm not sure if there is Adobe Photoshop for mac but would it be easier to be running those huge 3D Animation type programs?

Thanks to anyone who can help. =]

Hi ,

Firstly boot camp works just great on mac notebooks.
The hardware used on the mac is no different to hardware on any notebook. So install Windows XP as boot camp documentation and all will work fine.
Apples are no better or worse at graphics. Graphic speed depends on the graphics card in the mac you purchase, with the ibook it only has an internal on board graphics card which is weak. It will not play latest games etc or be much good if you require good graphic processing. Buy the MacBook Pro instead.

Mac hardware apart from looks and keyboard layout is just the same as any hardware manufacturer now they use intel processors.

Ha!:) Not sure if there is Adobe Photoshop for Mac! Photoshop was invented for Macs my friend (no, I mean literally). Macs ARE preferred by a lot of graphics editors, but it's because of the interface and power of the programs made for Mac. I'm also fairly confident that intensive operations (3d or video rendering) have historically completed faster on a Mac. I don't have the any current stats.
