Heya, is anyone having their macs hang when you shutdown windows. I keep getting stuck on the blue waiting to shut down screen? I keep having to hold down the power button and it is getting annoying.

1. Try hibernation when you can. It uses no power (unlike suspend) and cuts startup and shutdown times dramatically.

2. Install the intel drivers listed above in the post about MBP sleeping through the night. I had a similar problem, and this fixed it for me.

3. Beyond that, there might be a program that you are running, or a service running in the background, that is causing your problem. Try by process of elimination to see if one of these is causing your problem.

Good luck!

Hi, I had the same problem before I found this (http://www.intelliadmin.com/blog/2006/07/why-windows-takes-so-long-to-shut-down.html). It doesn't work all the time though, sometimes I have to wait like 3-4 minutes.

My MacBook Pro used to take *forever* to shut down, but after going through and disabling all of those services, and installing the MSI service item above, shutdown is much, much, much faster. Enjoy =)
