Hey,

Bootcamp is beta software and during the installation etc with the bootcamp assistant it reminds you that the software will only run for a limited number of days, however, I also hear people talk about not needing to use XOM now that they have bootcamp. Can I get confimation as to what the truth is?

If bootcamp really does expire, how long is the 'trial' period? And! can you use the XP driver disc you make with bootcamp in collaboration with an installation with XOM? Hope that makes sense :-)

Cheers.

Bootcamp expiration is not really an issue, since it will no affect your installation of Windows or your windows drivers loaded prior to expiration. Once you have the drivers CD made and your drive partitioned., it shouldn't be a problem. However, if you're the type who likes to reformat frequently, Boot Camp really makes that a lot easier with it's nondestructive partitioning. Boot Camp is set to expire on a certain date (e.g. when Leopard is released), not after a limitted number of days.

It is possible to use the drivers disc with XOM, though I doubt that Apple's automated driver installer works. However, you can use the disc and point the individual devices to a driver manually.
