Since I'm only 16 and a Student, I don't know if this counts as an excuse but I'm pretty low on on Cash to make bigger purchases such as buying a copy of windows xp :( but then again I have no idea what could be out there in terms of pricing. Okay to get to the point, I just got a new 20" iMac for my birthday and I also got oblivion from my friend who was nice enough to buy that game for me :D but forgot that I had a mac and hadn't installed windows xp yet. Well I've been wanting to play it really bad and I know how to set up boot camp but the only thing stopping me is getting a copy of windows xp with service pack2. Oblivion is one of the games for PC that I wanna play but also some other applications to use such as xfire and windows live messenger. Please help me on this issue of getting windows xp.

legal options: buy on ebay (well, potentially legal anyway) or slipstream SP2 onto a previous version of XP you already own.

I'm sure you wouldn't be posting here to find illegal options, and I'm assuming since you're 16, you can think of plenty of those.

Get this: http://www.pricegrabber.com/rating_getprodrev.php/masterid=4197929/id_type=masterid

Comments say that this runs fine with Boot Camp.

Everything you need - cheap.

Have any birthday money, possibly get a job to pay it off. I'm sure you can get enough money to buy this within a week if you find a good job.

Be very careful if you choose to download an illegal verion of Windows XP. Although I heard that Microsoft just added "If you have an illegally optained copy of Windows XP, click here to buy and get $100 off".

That sounds nice, but thats just giving Microsoft the OK to start some legal action.

Any of your friends have a master disc of Windows XP?

I'm pretty sure this offer only applies if you purchased a copy of Windows from a dealer you thought was legit. With this program, Microsoft wants to go after the distributors of illegal copies of Windows, not the users.

MS means that for people who bought a pirated version without knowing it. Also here in Australia I saw a Student version of XP pro with SP2 for only $99 (about $75 USD)

Thanks for the advice guys, I have just been off the computer for the last few days and btw I have tried to get friends copies but their parents are protecting their copies so I have to buy it and I don't really know of that many ways of illegaly getting it.
