I get a buzzing sound under the keyboard when booted into XP but not when in OS X.

I have read this: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=303365

I have an early W8608.. 1.83 Ghz and just bought it as a recertified refurb from the Apple store so I guess I am covered by the 90 day phone tech support?

So will Apple repair this? I assume they won't because they will say it's the BC beta software that’s causing blah blah... and it doesn't happen in OS X

Well an update: When the screen dims in OS X, the buzzing starts so I guess this will be a valid reason for Apple to take it back and repair?

UPDATE: Apple is going to replace the logic board.

I get a very low buzzing sound on my brand new MacBook Pro 17" from under the keyboard in OSX and not in Windows. I have the exact same sound on my PowerBook 17" too. Strange. The sound becomes louder when I plug in the MagSafe charger.

Well good news, Apple replaced the logic board and two great things happened.

No more buzzing and the computer runs much cooler since I got it back. I think running cooler could have to do with some of the complaints that there was not enough thermal paste put between the CPU and fan
