Hmmm...i searched and couldn't find anything about this, but i have just realised there is no hash key on my iMac keyboard!?

I think in OSX you can press something like ALT + F3 to produce one, but when using bootcamp in windows i dont know how to get one.

It is quite annoying because being a web developer i use the hash key quite a lot.

Any solutions!?

Thanks

What is a hash key, for my future reference? The symbol that shows up in my browser from your title is just the # (what I call a pound sign) and is easy for me to make by pushing shift-3. So I assume you're talking about something else, what is it?

This symbol - #

Andim talking about doing it in Windows

Pound sign is this - £

If you cant see it, it looks liek this

So I loaded into Windows just to check, for me shift-3 still works fine for creating the "hash" symbol on the US keyboard layout. I'm using a MBP, is the iMac keyboard so different?

By the way, at least here in America, the "hash" symbol is frequently called the "pound sign" and the symbol you made, (the ₤) is called the "pounds symbol". For example, on many automated phone systems, you are asked to enter a number followed by the "pound key". I can assure you there are no phones I've seen with a ₤ symbol.

Hmmm...weird, not heard it called a pund sign before.

Ah well, i'll test it when i get home, see what happens :)

If neither of those works out for you, or you don't want to use US keyboard layout, then I'd recommend creating a shortcut key for it in Unput Remapper. (assuming you can find some key combination that will create the hash symbol).
