I am working on a way to use my iPod/any USB stick to install linux, without the need to burn a CD.

I can use rEFIt to boot to my iPod no problem, but I can't seem to figure out how to load a boot image (debian, ubuntu or otherwise) from there. rEFIt has scanty documentation.

There is plenty of room on my iPod for serveral iso's, and this would allow me to install any of them at will. Maybe I could have both rEFIt and Grub on the iPod, allowing me to do installs on PCs and on EFI macs.

Anyone have any ideas to get rEFIt to do this? Or should I use something other than rEFIt?
