Ohkay guru's i got two questions, one borne from laziness and one I will probably have to to.. it is my understanding that the hardware can only be updated within mac os (eg...smc updates and efi updates and what not)..anyway
First question.

1. Is it possible to somehow apply the apple updates while inside Windows?..

no?! I ask this because on my Macbook Pro;

2. I am running two partitions (32 & 60) partitioned as WINXPSP2 & NTFS (storage and what not) I believe they are both active and it was a chore to get XP booting in the first place after creating that partitioned space....so in the case that 1 is a no go is it possible to format the first partition into a 10 and 22 for OSX and WinXP? I have tried messing with the diskutil command lines and fried my last storage space so implicit instructions would be nice.

Thanks peeps

As the bios updates should be in an EFI format, I don't know how you could apply them on the XP side.

This is another reason I have stayed away from blowing away the entire Mac Partition and just loading XP.

Also I still feel that XP at least on the Macbookpro, isn't realy seeing the entire Intel bus, processor etc. correctly. I base this on the way the XP power management seems to run so poorly on the MBP.

On most other laptops I have used in the past, even on the Mac side of the MBP, there are little hooks written for the OS to take the best advantage of the processer and bus. These tend to be written by the OEM. As of yet I haven't seen this from Mac.

Thanks for the quick response to 1.
I knew it would be reaching to be able to upgrade under a windows environment.

Going to wait and see what people can cook up for option 2, otherwise looks like its partition into 3 seperate drives for me.
