I have a the 15.4 MacPro and am trying to install bootcamp on it. I created my drivers disk and then attempted to partition my drive. However it said that I had immovable files and needed to use disk utility to format my hd and restore the disk and then partition. after opening disk utility, i did not have the option to format my drive, it has been verified and has nothing to format. How do i partition this?

That's odd, I hadn't heard of this problem before. Is your HD pretty full? To format your HD, you need to boot from the OS X install DVD (disc 1) that came with your computer. When it loads up, click utilities on the top menu bar and go to Disk Utulity. This will erase everything on your disk, so backup your files, and check the backup first. Then you'll need to reinstall OS X, which will just involve quiting Disk Utility, since the DVD automatically launches the install process on boot.
All this will take several hours, but at least one advantage is that you can choose a custom install, and choose not to install the various language packs and printer drivers that you won't ever use--which actually saves a significant amount of HD space.
