I have new Mac Pro Quad Xeon with boot camp 1.1.2, running OSX 10.4.8 and XP Pro SP2 to which I would like to add an external USB 2.0/Firewire 800 hard drive (a Western Digital My Book premium 250 GB). I think that with the Mac disk utility I can split format the external drive into 1 HFS+ partition (large) and 2 FAT32 partitions (each about 32 GB). I’ve been through several of the forum posts related to formatting and partition sizes for external hard drives and can’t conclude whether this is indeed a workable approach, however. Thanks for any advice and help.
