EFI upgrade and refit

Hello,

I have a gentoo linux installed on my macbook. But I have a question:
I've booted on macosX and I see there's an upgrade for EFI firmware. Is it safe to install it ? does I need te reinstall refit after ? Or it's better not to upgrade ?
