So I just ran out and got myself a macbook pro today. Ive been reading the wiki and the forums and I have not been able to find a solution as of yet. I have re-partissioned my computer 3 times now and I would not like to do it again unless I know its going to fix my problem. Witch is:
I have installed the booter, and it boots in to OS X just fine. But when I select the windows option, I get 1 of three responces: Nothing *(it freezes for HOURS), I get an upside down windows logo (rare), or if I press f2 I get the console but it hangs after:
2000:0E2E: int 13-4B
2000:0EFE: int 13-48
Also I see under the partitions that my partition #1 sats
MSDOS 0064028-04664027 ERASING!!!
Also since the first time I tried to install windows (after installing the booter) I cant see my fat32 partition from OS X. In disk utility it comes up as a total of 3 partitions *(even though I only created 2), the largest of witch is considered free space.
ANY help would be great. I have seen similer problems with the mac mini on the threads, but nothing quite like my situation.

If you are getting a upside down Windows Logo, then you need to reinstall Windows. Many of us had the same problem, but IF you reinstall the windows, it should work fine.
This issue has already been addressed at this thread.

Just to clarify, I am unable to install Windows in the first place. I wish I had problems with the install, but at this point the installer doesn't even launch. In the upper left I see this message that it is inspecting my hardware, but as I said it hangs there for hours, no matter the input. Even the caps lock doesn't work.

What did you do differently? I'm using a copy of XP SP2 direct from my MSDN account and I'm having the exact same problem, it just hangs when I try to install it, never gets past.

Ok like alot of folks here I did finally get this installed and running on my MBP 2ghz. It absolutely works as advertised. Here's what I did and what I saw - what worked and did not work. YMMV - just trying to save people hours of frustration.
Oh and one more thing - if you've downloaded a torrent or are not using a legal copy of XP shame on you.
1) follow the Wiki precisely regarding drive setup and setting up XOM.EFI for dual boot. It absolutely works
2) burn your CD on a PC with Nero. Nothing else worked for me, especially the mkiofs stuff on the mac. I wasted 4-5 hours with this step. Finally I downloaded Nero and used it. Some quirks with Nero for folks like me that have never used it (hey I do all my audio & video work on a Mac of course) -
a)it's total bloatware. The demo DOES work, but install it custom, Nero Burning only. start it up and open sp2.nrb from with Nero Burn (it's located in C:\Program Files\Nero\Nero7\Core\nero.exe and at least for me could not be associated with an NR2 extension in the Explorer).
b)once you've got the sp2.nrb file open follow the Wiki instructions exactly and your disk should work fine.
3)do yourself a favor and BEFORE installing either burn a CD with all the drivers and software mentioned on the Wiki drivers page or create a directory on your OS X partition with them so you have it handy once you are done with the XP install. This is important since you won't have network access and right clicking will be disabled). Ideally these should just be on the install CD - no doubt somebody's already doing that. You'll definitely need the CD if you're formatting XP with NTFS.
4)as documented in several places on an MBP the partition table will not show up the way it's supposed to an an MBP. BE SURE to install on the first unpartitioned space initially. You'll need to reboot before moving on to the graphical part of the install and repeat the procedure, but after you reboot it works EXACTLY as advertised in the Wiki
5) Once you have XP installed go ahead and install the drivers with the CD from step 3 (or boot into OS X and copy the files over to your XP drive). since you can't right click yet you'll probably have to reboot to swap the disk - I did. Be sure to follow the drivers page instructions EXACTLY as described. everything works as described, including the procedure for installing the wifi driver.
That's it for now... looking forward to these geniuses cracking the code on the video drivers and sound.

Bradn, could you explain what you did differently when you burned your final CD. The one that worked.
Because I'm using a legal Windows XP Home French edition and I tried the intallation many times on my MBP 2GHZ and it's still not working.
I tried the Creating the CD for International (NON-US) version of XP stuff but it's still not working.
I get the MSDOS 0064028-04664027 ERASING!!! message and nothing else happen even if press g and enter or if press f4 before botting...
Anyone successed with a MBP 2GHZ, XP Home french ?
Txs in advance for any help :)
