Now that I got the graphics issue solved ... now on to the other installs. I installed the software for wireless access for the mac mini. But the instructions says that I need to right click the "device" in device manager. My question is ... which one is it, and how do I verify that there is wireless access.

Once installed, right-click the device in device manager and manually choose a driver to install. Click have disk and point to C:\drivers\win\wllanath\winxp_2k, then select the driver: 11a/b/g Wireless LAN Mini PCI Express Adaptor. Some users have reported that the MBP drivers have issues connecting to certain brands of wireless routers. These problems did not occur when the same system was booted into OSX. If any other suitable/working MBP wifi drivers are found, please add them here so they can be tested.

There is another unknown Ethernet device in the list, that is the Wireless adapter.

I have the crap antenna's in my mini, so wireless reception in MacOS X is just as crappy as when using WindowsXP... Using the ethernet connector until I can order new antennas from Apple....

I choose this unknown Ethernet device, directed the wizard to the location C:\drivers\win\wllanath\winxp_2k
but it is saying "Cannot install this hardware" ...wizard cannot find the necessary software.

Never mind ... got it working.

I still can not find the wireless driver for my Airport (MacBook). I am looking under the Device Manager, Ohter devices and then I have 3 unknown devices but they don't allow me to install the driver. I have no Ethernet name in there. BTW my connection works with regular ethernet cable but I need the wireless. Please Help. Thanks.

I think some people (including myself) were expecting the normal manual driver installation process to work.

So for people who are still having this issue:

- Select the Ethernet Controller representing the wireless card under Other devices in Device Manager (if you haven't yet installed drivers for the wired ethernet, you'll see two, and the wireless card should be the second one), and go into Properties.

- Select Update Driver... on the Driver tab

- Select "No" when prompted to connect to the internet

- Select "Install from a specific location"

- Select "Don't search. I will choose the driver to install"

- Select "Network Adapter"

- Click "Have Disk"

- Enter the path: C:\drivers\WIN\WLLANATH\WINXP_2K

- Select the 802.11a/b/g Mini PCI Express drivers (the MacBook Pro contains an Atheros 5424 wireless chipset, which is an 802.11a/b/g chipset)

- Your wireless should now be active.
