View Full Version : problem with windows install and macbook pro keyboard

i put in the windows install cd and the screen finally goes to the partition blue screen. but when i try to choose which partition to use, nothing happens.
none of the keys i press on my macbook pro keyboard will do anything. what should i do? help needed!

Moved to troubleshooting..
To answer your question you can try the following:
When you boot and see the windows logo, press F4. Now, press F7. Once there, where it says X Resolution [some number here]: <--enter 640 here. Same for Y resolution, but enter 480. For all other variables (scanline, buffer, bpp, etc) just hit enter. Hope that works!

thanks for such a fast reply. anyways, it still didn't work. it just made the actual blue screen smaller.
the problem is that the keyboard won't work when i get to the partition selection screen. i don't know what to do. :(

Try starting from scratch and partition/reinstall OSX.

Yeah he just sent me an IM on AIM and we agreed this is the next logical step.
I'm thinking an error in the partition map or table.

Hi fella,
Just got my macbook and am very happy but have got as far as getting windows to the partition screen and the keyboard on my macbook will not work, works like 3 mins ago to select the window boot screen, but after 2 or 3 complete reinstals from the mac os I cannot get it to work at all, always no keyboard working....any ideas please please help, this is stopping me installing and setting uo the mac, just in case I need to wipe and start again!
