Hi all,
As soon as I read about the WinXP Dual Boot solution last week, I went out to a Macstore and bought an Intel Core Solo Mac Mini.
I tried to install it last weekend and came across some of the problems most people had, but they were quickly resolved. Video (VGA), Ethernet,Wireless, Chipset is working fine.
Now the audio, that's something else. I installed the Intel drivers, and the device manager is indicating that the drivers were installed succesfully. Still there is no audio when using headphones. Even though I also have the speaker icon in the taskbar (changing volume doesn't do anything).
The audio out jacket also has a burning red LED inside, but I guess that means the optical audio is working (I don't have optical audio cables, so I can't test that).
Has anyone already found a workaround for the no analog audio problem?
Furthermore, when I look into the device manager, I still have three 'Other devices' that are not installed. They are:
- PCI Device
- Unknown Device
- Unknown Device
Does anyone know what those devices might be. I'm considering dissecting my Mac Mini Core Solo (I couldn't immediately find a well documented Intel Mac Mini dissection on the web) to get some more information about the chips being used, but perhaps someone else has already done it?
I also have 1 'USB Human Interface Device' with an exclamation mark with the error message that 'The device cannot start. (Code 10)'. Any suggestions why it won't start?
Michael
