Before dual booting became a possibility, I was messing around with Q (kberg.ch/q/). Since I was never able to get XP installed using Q, I gave up. Now, I've got a bootable XP installation but a crippled BIOS to work with (presumably the video card is hard coded into the xom.efi). What if we tried drivers out in the Q environment on our XP installations? That would allow us to test which drivers would work while we wait for the xom.efi to be opened up some.
Would this work? I've created a disc image of my XP partition and renamed it XP.img (.dmg files don't work in Q). I tried to get it to boot up, but it gets stuck at "booting from hard drive" or something like that. Maybe others could mess around with it. Who knows, maybe we can get a nice functional and usable XP installation while we wait for xom to be optimized...
