ok, so I have WinXP installed, and I was using it for a while, but now I mucked it up...

what I did was install v0.3 of the text mode refit version. this worked fine and I could still boot windows... then i read there was also the graphical bootloader. I deleted what I installed, and installed the refit gui loader.

it went fine, and the refit loader works, when i select os x, it boots right into os x, when i select winxp, it goes to the xom loader, and then i have to select xp again. (i did the refit install because I wanted to install linux later in case you're wondering)..

in any case, I now get the following halt on booting xp  . any help or suggestions would be great. btw, i can read and see all the files on my xp partition through os x.

According to our assembly/C++ programming guru here, this is int(errupt) is being caused by a DLL or other driver apparently trying to hook into the video card (or looking for something else) Many of us are expereincing the same thing, especially after doing driver, Windows or other updates to our installs.

You should see a hyphen/dash on the next line. Enter a "g" then hit enter twice. You may see the same erros codes again and another dash. Hit "g" and enter-enter and it should start up fine. That's how I have to boot now. Hope that helps.

Can confirm this, was booting fine until upgrade of all patches from MS.

One thing tho is that shutdown/restart is hanging at shutting down just like the initial installation instructions indicated.

WOuld have expected it to work cleanly - any ideas

I'll second that. I've run into the Int error a few times on my iMac, and did things the "hard way" to restore the machine to functionality. It did it again this morning, so I decided to have a look here (thinking that someone else must have seen this before), and it took me all of 5 minutes to find this thread, and my iMac is happy again, which makes me happy.

All that to say Thank You for the "g" workaround. That just saved me a bunch of time... Thanks!!! :D

windows update caused this for me as well.

"g enter enter" to the rescue!

This is exactly why I am avoiding windows update. Or do you have to do the "g" workaround only once, and then the next reboot works okay? If i have to do "g" enter enter over and over every boot, windows update is not worth it for me.

I've been having fun showing off how smooth the boot to XP is, so the "g enter enter" would really mess that up, on top of being annoying.

I haven't run any updates and I am having this same issue. I'm very curious to find out the answer to this question.
