Install Windows XP on MBP.
Do your Windows build (Install all software and configure it as needed).
Download Sysprep v2 from Microsoft. Put it on the root of c: and make sure it is called "sysprep". Open this folder, Use the manager utility to create an answer file that includes all the required information (Product Key, Machine Name, Organization, Regional Settings, as desired).
Once you have this all ready, open the command prompt (Start>Run>cmd). Now type:
cd sysprep
sysprep /mini /reseal
Sysprep will run and shut down the computer. (You will have to manually power of MBP)
Boot MBP in Firewire Target Mode and Connect to PC with Multiple Firewire ports.
Boot Destination MBP in Firewire Target Mode and connect to the same PC.
Boot PC using using a Bootable ghost disk (Norton Ghost 2003 patched) that supports Firewire.
Choose Image FROM DISK TO DISK.
Select the source disk (the MBP containing your Syspreped Build), then choose the destination drive (Target MBP). Ghost will then display your destination drive details, verify that the partition sizes match the original.
Proceed with disk image.
The process takes quite a bit of time, I think that we may be able to save time by imaging the Source MBP to a Ghost image file using compression. This will eliminate copying all the dead space on the drive. Will test this.
There may be issues ghosting to MBP's with different specs. Will have to do more testing with imaging to different size drives.
After the machine is imaged Boot to windows, sysprep will start the setup process. Depending on what options you included in your answer file, you may or may not have to provide information.
After loading all your devices, sysprep will try to restart (MBP will hang). Power off the MBP and boot to Windows.
