I tried to install a hungarian copy of windows xp to my 20" iMac with the modified TXTSETUP.SIF file but I didn't have any success. I don't know what can be the problem, because I have the right .SIF file and the right partition order and i did the F4 F7 thing as well. The installer fails when it tries to patch the partition. When the installer says, that "Patching Succesful" then there is no feedback, but no for 2-3 minutes, there is no feedback forever
The only thing what could be in the installer's way is my videocard. My iMac is equipped with bigger x1600 card, I have the 256 MB version of the card in my computer. So, my question is: Did anyone managed to install a non-english (or english, but non-english would be better) window xp on an iMac 20" with "Ati X1600 with256 MB Video RAM" video card?

Here is a picture about the point where my install fails (http://kepfeltoltes.hu/view/060323/install_www.kepfeltoltes.hu_.jpg)

Hi,

I have a macbook pro with a 256 mo video card as well and my install was clean. I don’t think it’s a video card problem.

When you installed XP, did it ask for missing files? Because you must have a different TXTSETUP.SIF per language, did you create a new TXTSETUP.SIF with your hungarian xp cd or did you download a right Hungarian version?

Good luck bazmeg:p !

I have the modified SIF file, so the installer didn't ask for missing files. But sometimes it displayed an error "Windows Can't Copy ... .sys File or ... .dll file". After I tried to complete the second part of the installation, but the installer displayed some errors here too and after an Error Messege I lost the Mouse and Keyboard connection, so I couldn't able to say OK for the Error. I think the error was about the CDROM driver I think it said this "Windows Can't Load CDROM Driver" and the I lost my kb an mouse. It also displayed an error for Battery and Disk Drive. So then I checked my Install CD and these files do not exsist on my CD so that's the problem:( I have to get a better copy of Windows SP2

hi,

You just have to build your own TXTSETUP.SIF  !!!!!
You have to modify your TXTSETUP.SIF file located in your Hungarian XP Pro CD and use that new TXTSETUP.SIF file in your new burned install cd.

Just follow how to make that file (in the German how to) and then create your own Hungarian TXTSETUP.SIF file!

You can't use a German, French or English TXTSETUP.SIF, that wont work!

Just create your own TXTSETUP.SIF file and that will work, for sure ;) .

Hogy mondjam mÃÂ{censored}s képen?!?!

I modified the original Hungarian SIF file, but I still have the same problem.:(

A SIF file volt az első amit át ÃÂ{censored}rtam.
