It looks like sony is using an intel dual core for their laptop. Is this the same dual core that Mac is using? If so how is sony getting Windows XP to run on it? Could be a direction to start in.

Its not the processor thats the problem. Its EFI. Sony will have to include a CSM (Compatibility Support Module--basically a virtual BIOS). If Apple left in CSM in the Intel Macs, we would have booted XP with no problem.

Well people have tried to figure the same out for Gateways 600 series Media Center PCs. They use the same chips as the Intel Macs, but they have Insyde's CSM. Youd have to reflash the ROM, which could break the computer (and not to mention is very hard).
