I did not find a better place for the posting, sorry.

I searched the web a lot to find out if the MacTel supports VT.
Some say yes other say no.

Since win on mac i know for sure, it supports vanderpool. I just installed
Parallels PC emulator unter Win XP on my Intel 20" iMac and I can turn on
the support for VT.

On my "normal" Windows PC I can´t do this, because the Parallels emulator does not find VT.

So the onmac project could also try to use VT to run OSX and Win XP both at the same time, which would be great ;-)

Or perhaps BAMBIOS and/or a special version of XEN will do the job.

Thats all,

There was a group who was working on this for the contest (before the solution came out obviously), but I'm not sure if they stopped working on this.

Here's to hoping we can take advantage of this!

I hope they will keep trying. That would turn the MacTel into a "KillerComp"

Just a note:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Intel_Core

It does fully support vanderpool (according to the wiki).

(However VT can be disabled in BIOS (or in our case--EFI)

Correct, the processor ist VT capable (some denied even this ;-)
Before i bought my MacTel I tried to find some information about how apple was handling this. Did intel made some special mods on the procs? Then, after some guys succeeded in installing linux on the MacTel they showed some Specs where you could clearly see that VT-Support was given.

For me it was pretty cool to see, that VT was really working this efi-solution!

But is VT also enabled by apple while i am running osx? i couldn´t find any information about that. If so the Q-Ports of QEmu could also benefit from VT.
In an other thread in this forum i read something about that OSX 10.5 hopefully will be supporting VT. Did apple cripple VT on my mac in the meantime. Does anybody know? Or how could i try to find out?
