Backup your XP Partition with MiniMac with an other one XP-PC

I hope you understand me..:-)

1) Start MiniMac, press the Key "T" ca. 10s.
2) Connect the two via Firewire

Attention, I could make only once via Firewire a connection with the MiniMac as non removable disk
then XP did not recognize the MiniMac any longer
You must into the Registry, and which the following entry after each new mounten delete
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Enum\1394
Absolutely the complete key, The key only produced with mounten
The key cannot be deleted simply, you must set the Berechtung (right mouse button) for for everyone
now you can delete,

3) Start on XP-PC NTBackup.exe path="C:\Windows\System32"
4) Make a complete Backup, All drivers, attitudes become secured
5) If an installation is defective can you everything again rewind, NTBackup is fast
That reads assistance file, one can much adjust

You save much time, if your installation is defective, you need only a rudimentary XP installation
and can then afterwards your installation with all driving in walked to after-install

Small repairs should function also only with the MiniMac alone

With Acronis I made only bad experiences, destroyed the installation the boat manager efi,
could only with two "go" start

Start:

1) Boot your MacTel in target mode (pressi "T" during boot process).

2) Connect the Mactel to a PC with Windows XP pro using Firewire .
You can use a 2nd MacTel instead of a PC of course:D
Attention: Connecting a MacTel in target mode to a PC can happen only one time. After the first connection there is an error in the registry data base of the Windows PC. The solution for a 2nd try is to delete this entry completely. Look for the entry "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Enum\1394" (search for "1394" for example).
Now set the rights of this entry to everbody (using right mouse klick).
Delete the entry. Now all is okay.


3) Start the software NTBackup.exe path="C:\Windows\System32" from the 2nd PC.

4) Do a complete backup with all driversetc.
5) If your XP installation on your MacTel has become defective you are now able to rewind this installation to the backup status.
NTBackup is very fast :)
But reading help files helps :p

6) If you killed your MacTel XP installation accidently you are now able to delete the whole XP partition an do just a basic Windows installation with the help of you already prepatched XP-CD. After rthis just spool back the whole installation using NTBackup from the 2nd PC and the sun shines again;)

7) Smaller repairs worked using repair installation with Windows installation CD on kkc's Mac mini but he likes to have a working backup solution to feel shure.

8) With Acronis Trueimage kkc had only bad experiences (he destroyed installations more than one ttime incl. boot manager)
