I used the following copies/versions of XP to do the install with Bootcamp.
Specs..
MBP 1.8 with 1gb mem, 80gb drive.

XP Pro SP1 Family Gold. Did Windows update with ethernet driver installed to get SP2 on. All drivers worked.

XP Pro Non SP1 or 2 ATI Drivers worked, nothing else, installed ethernet and Wireless with off the shelf web driver downloads.

OEM Discs.....

Gateway XP Home with SP2 work perfect
Dell XP Home restore with SP2 worked perfect
Compaq XP Home restore with SP2 worked perfect.

I am going to try a first run Lognhorn disc tonight, I think I can get it to work, and then I am going to try Server 2003 Enterprise.

After that its Linux time.

do you think that it would work with just a regular OEM version of XP PRO SP2?

Cause I really don't want to spend the 300 whatever dollars for a full version of XP :p

I used a Dell XP pro SP2 disk, installed flawlessly, didn't give the normal error about incorrect hardware, did need activation though!

I used a dell branded Windows XP CD, no issues, worked the way it was susposed to. Had a hitch at activation since it stated my Product Key was all zeros, but I just manually put it in.

Add XP Home SP2 OEM to the working list.
I also tried MCE 2005 OEM works fine, must use external drive for disc 2.

How are you using DELL and Gateway discs, thought they only install on PC's with Dell or GAteway bioses? Maybe cause the mini does not have a bios...
YOu guys discovered something that will change soon I think!

Also how are you installing drivers separately?

Reading that i could use an xp pro sp1 version made me want to try installing a non sp2 version of xp.
Feeling adventurous, i installed a non-sp2 version of xp. only problem is, i think its sp0 not sp1. i can't get the wireless internet to work and i'm not clear as to what i should try at this point. could someone point me in the right direction? thanks

Ok guys, sorry I was out filming the past few days.

How I managed to get Dell and gateway discs to work was they came with Full XP discs and a seperate disc for drivers, I know that is not normal for Dell, but it worked.

Cant use non SP2 Discs as for some reason, you cant instal the drivers from BootCamp.

Ok, to update my list...

Suse Linux 9.2 loaded just fine. Did not try to work drivers like wireless, but everything worked fine.

Server 2003 Enterprise loaded, the ATI drivers loaded, and the ethernet as well, did not get the wireless to work though.

I could not get a copy of XP SP1 Gold family to let me update to SP2 AFTER I installed XP onto the machine, I am thinking of trying this sgain.

I am sorry, I can not send any copies of software to anyone. First off the reason I have so many copies of different Windows is this is a work computer, and all of the computers we purchased (laptops) are donating their OEM versions for me to test with. So we own all of this software.

I am curious as to triple booting with XP/OSX/and Suse, I might get into that this weekend, I think I came up with an idea as how to do it.
