Yes, I'm now having the same problem as you.
I installed an evaluation copy of Alcohol 52% so I could play Oblivion without the DVD. I then installed a freebie DVD-player Codec so I could watch DVD's from XP.
After doing one of these (not sure which), I could no longer see my MacDrive volume as a lettered disk drive on XP.
After uninstalling Alcohol, the DVD codepack, and MacDrive, and then reinstalling MacDrive, I can still not see the Mac disk from XP.
MediaFour's website knowledgebase directs you to "Step 3" in this case, which is to submit a support ticket, which is what I've done.
Apparently, the MediaFour driver is a bit on the fragile side. Probably doesn't bode well for the longevity of all these XP installs everyone is doing with Boot Camp.

Just an update: I got it working again, but I had to use the "Restore Point" feature of Windows XP (may be Xp Pro only, not sure). This feature lets you create "restore points" before installing software that might corrupt your registry. Some software installs create them automatically, and I just went through the "Help and support" app to get to the system restore screen, and picked an existing restore point before I ever installed Alcohol. After restoring, MacDrive was not working right (had to kill it with Task manager), but after a reinstall (again) of MacDrive (and Microsoft Defender, which also broke after my system restore), everything appears to be back to normal.
Might be worth a try, if you have System Restore available with your copy of XP, and there is an existing restore point not too far back.

This is well-known as incompatible, as documented on both the Drivers page (http://wiki.onmac.net/index.php/Users/Drivers) here, and on MediaFour's web site (http://kb.mediafour.com/index.php?_a=knowledgebase&_j=questiondetails&_i=80).

Sorry - even though I'd searched MediaFour's website, I didn't use the keyword "Alcohol".
To be honest, I think their "3-step" process to follow under their topic for "Troubleshooting...Mac disk not 'seen' (i.e. no drive letter) by Windows with MacDrive installed" should mention, or at least link to, the known application incompatibilities, as I doubt many of the users of that site would think to search for the names of other software they had installed - especially considering the high relevance of the troubleshooting topic on the main page of the knowledgebase which appears to lead the user directly to issuing a trouble ticket rather than continuing to search the knowledgebase.
In addition, their website's advice to uninstall Alcohol did not, at least on my system, restore functionality to MacDrive, nor did an uninstall/reinstall of MacDrive. It took a registry restore to do it, which is *not* mentioned in their knowledgebase.
I somehow just missed the Alcohol reference on the Wiki. My bad...
In spite of my failure to find the documentation you referenced, I still believe the MacDrive software is just a tad fragile considering its cost.
