For headphone support, but no internal speaker support (ie. the reverse of Boot Camp driver) just install the driver suggested at http://wiki.onmac.net/index.php/Users/Drivers after you install the Boot Camp drivers.

Sorry for the terrific bump, but how would you switch between drivers (without reinstalling them)? I wouldn't like to use just one because there are times I prefer the speakers or headphones. I think it has to do with device manager, but I don't know what to do. (Haven't really used win computers in years, until the mbp).

Can you use different drivers under different user profiles?

There is the Option of having different "Hardware Profiles", don't ask me where to make or switch them....cause i never use them....but that is the direction you want Google or MS Knowledgebase to point you in

Could be random or just MY macbookpro behaving wierd. But after I did the above procedure, that is switching the audio driver under xp from the bootcamp one to the one suggested here, my mbpro started behaving really wierd.
Wouldn't start under OS X without doing safe mode, and the sound in safe mode wouldn't work either. Had to reformat the harddrive and reinstall os x to get os x+sound working again ![]() |
