Interesting. I looked at that KB article a long time ago and there was never a patch available for download. I had to fix it manually with registry tweaks. After I did the registry tweaks, I started hearing the famous "whine" that everyone complains about in Windows XP (prior to the registry hack for power states, I only heard the whine in OS X).

hello,
can you paste the registry tweaks you mentioned? i experience the whine under osx but not under windows (please dont reply saying i should be happy about that), so i guess the cpu powersaving features are not completely used. greetings |
